Private lessons at Rio Golf Academy are built around the individual needs of each golfer with clear structure, honest feedback, and real support. Our coaches have deep knowledge across all key areas of the game, full swing, short game, putting, green reading, on-course decision-making, performance training and fitness. Their experience ranges from junior development to tour-level performance, allowing each lesson to be tailored to the player's goals, level, and learning style.

Unlocking Full Potential through Expertise and Passion. Gregor leads his students to significant improvements, motivating them to train with the discipline and mindset of professionals. He ignites a passion for competitive golf and instills confidence so players can reach their full potential.

He has a proven record with PGA and LPGA Tour players, top national teams, and world-ranked collegiate and amateur golfers. Gregor has coached junior and club teams to national championships and served as head coach for the “All-Berlin” regional selection teams.

As a former professional, Gregor trained under Hank Haney and Tim Cusick in Texas. He continually advances his swing model through collaborations with experts including Robert Baker and Dr. Robert Neal, founder of Golf Biodynamics.

A PGA Professional with Over 40 Years of Expertise. Tom is a Class “A” member of the PGA of Canada with more than four decades in the game, bringing deep competitive and coaching insight to the Rio Golf Academy.

He competed for 13 years on the PGA Tour Canada as well as the Australian and Asian tours, gaining invaluable experience playing alongside top professionals worldwide. That firsthand tour background shapes his approach to player development.

In 2006, Tom founded a full-time junior and post-grad residential academy in Orlando to prepare young golfers for success in junior and collegiate golf and beyond. He partnered closely with leading Central Florida academic institutions, helping student-athletes graduate and earn sports scholarships to universities across the U.S.

After merging his academy with another established institution, Tom returned to golf operations. For the past six and a half years, he has served as General Manager of Rio Pinar Golf, continuing to elevate programs, facilities, and player experiences.

30 Years of Excellence in Golf Instruction. Peter specializes in preparing juniors for collegiate and professional levels. He began his coaching career at Randpark Golf Club in Johannesburg in the late 1980s, earning the respect of greats like Mark McNulty, David Frost, and Gary Player.

Across three decades he has coached dozens of PGA Tour professionals and implemented an innovative junior training philosophy that helped develop players such as Charl Schwartzel, Richard Sterne, Trevor Dodds, and Clinton Whitelaw. His athletes have amassed more than 100 professional wins, and over the last 10 years every junior he mentored has played college golf, with more than 70% earning scholarships.

A passionate instructor with a global perspective. Before joining Rio Golf Academy, Mike spent three years as the teaching professional at Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, leading their junior program and teaching local and resort guests.

He lived in Japan for five years, becoming fluent in Japanese and meeting his wife, and also worked in Australia at Long Reef Golf Course north of Sydney. Mike became a PGA Member in 2023, is TPI Level 1 Certified, and holds a Master’s degree in Physical Education Leadership. With more than eight years as an instructor across multiple disciplines, he’s committed to making complex concepts simple and actionable.

Mike enjoys introducing golfers of all ages to the game in a fun, stress-free environment, and he’s equally focused on helping current players hit their performance goals. His laid-back, sincere approach creates a positive experience with measurable improvement.

His expertise is regularly sought by PGA and LPGA professionals, and he consults on the technical instruction of Rio Golf Academy’s full-time students.

A highly respected performance specialist with more than 25 years of experience. Karen helps golfers move better, perform more consistently, and stay healthier throughout their careers.

With formal training as both a Podiatrist and Exercise Scientist, Karen brings a rare combination of clinical insight and high-performance expertise to golf. She co-founded Golf BioDynamics with Dr. Robert Neal and later worked at The Jim McLean Golf School in Miami, specializing in 3D swing analysis, biofeedback training, and golf-specific physical conditioning.

Her work has supported professional and amateur golfers, National Golf Teams, PGA organizations, and elite junior academies worldwide. She also spent a decade as Director of Health and Athletic Development at the International Junior Golf Academy at Bishops Gate, leading integrated programs focused on long-term athlete development, injury prevention, and performance optimization.

Her approach blends biomechanics, performance technology, movement screening, injury management, strength and conditioning, and sports nutrition. She holds advanced qualifications through the IOC, NSCA (CSCS), and ASCA, ensuring every program is evidence-based and athlete-centered.

Now based at Rio Pinar Golf and Rio Golf Academy, Karen works with athletes through both the academy and her independent brand, KH Performance, delivering personalized performance solutions designed to support sustainable success in golf.

A physical therapist focused on helping athletes move, recover, and perform. Chris’s interest in physical therapy began as a young athlete while working through injuries in order to return to competitive basketball, baseball, and golf.

He earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Georgia. For more than 10 years, he has helped people return to the activities they enjoy and has learned from many of the Southeast’s leading specialists in hands-on treatment for back pain, knee pain, and golf injuries.

His mission is to help clients feel better, live with less pain, and return to the activities they love. At Rio Golf Academy, Chris has helped create an environment where the highest quality one-to-one hands-on treatments can be delivered in a location that maximizes convenience and minimizes disruption to busy schedules.
